As office manager at Kelsall Chiropractic, Amy Burgess is the quiet engine that keeps the clinic running — readying patient charts, confirming appointments, wrapping up insurance loose ends and getting the office ready for a busy day of chiropractic care.
Burgess came to the Portland chiropractic clinic, Kelsall Chiropractic, in 2007 after working in a variety of medical offices including family practice, internal medicine and chiropractic. A chiropractic patient herself, Burgess has an affinity for holistic medical approaches and especially enjoys Dr. Kelsall’s emphasis on maintaining health through preventive care.
You will find Burgess at her post three days a week. She spends the balance of her week making jewelry, which she sells at various outlets throughout Oregon and from her website amyburgessjewelry.com. Burgess has been handcrafting natural gemstone-studded earrings, bracelets and necklaces for most of her adult life.
For Burgess, the social part of her job at Kelsall Chiropractic is a high point. After spending lots of solo time creating, she enjoys the contrast of working with patients and getting to know them on a personal level. She sees part of her role as helping them feel comfortable in a healthcare setting.
Burgess and her husband make their home in Vancouver, Washington. The former surfer now camps, hikes and gets outside as much as possible, seeking creative inspiration.
