Ashiatsu Massage in Portland, Oregon
What is Ashiatsu?
“Ashi” means foot and “atsu” means pressure
Ashiatsu is a unique style of massage in which the therapist provides consistent deep pressure by utilizing their bare feet and body weight. While holding onto overhead bars, and with properly sanitized feet, the massage therapist works with gravity to deliver pressure up to 3x deeper than traditional hands-on treatments, creating significant structural changes throughout the body.
As a result of the broadness of pressure applied, clients will enjoy the same extra range of movement and decrease in chronic tension without residual soreness the following day.
Benefits of Ashiatsu:
- Increases range of motion
- Decreases pain
- Frees up bundled nerves
- Elongates muscles & detoxifies
- Improves posture
Ashiatsu is not suitable for everyone. Some examples of conditions that are contraindicated for Ashiatsu include but are not limited to:
- Pregnancy or women trying to conceive
- High/Low blood pressure (unless properly managed)

- Autoimmune disorders
